Soloists of the concert:
MONIKA KORYBALSKA (mezzo-soprano) is a young star of State Opera in Cracow. She studied at the Cracow Music Academy under Dr. Katherina Oles-Blacha. She debuted even before joining The Academy in Mozart’s ‘Magic Flute’ in joined Dutch-Polish production. She performed already at the most prestigious Mozart Festival in Salzburg, Austria. In December 2010  she was a soloist at The Fairy Queen by H. Purcell under conductor P. Eastwood. At the stage of Cracow Opera she debuted in 2009 at G. Puccini’s ‘Madame Butterfly’ and continuing at Bizet’s ‘Carmen’, Moniuszko’s ‘Haunted Manor’ and others.
BARTEK RYBAK graduated with distinction from the Chopin Music Academy in Warsaw and Amsterdam Conservatory. He won several prizes on piano competitions in Poland and France and participated in Master Classes of leading Professors as Andrzej Jasinski, John O’Connor, Rudolf Buchbinder, Eugene Indjic and Philippe Entremont. He performed concerts in Poland, France, Germany, Netherlands, Belgium, Kuwait and Egypt as a pianist, conductor and – talented composer. He lectures at the Music Department of the College of Basic Education.
FAISAL G. AL-BAHAIRI is a young talented Kuwaiti pianist studying piano in Kuwait (at Kuwait Music Academy among others) and Poland. He won Grand Prix – First Prize at the 1st Gulf International Chopin Competition – Kuwait, 2010 presented by H.E. Sheikh Nasser Al-Sabah and Special Prize of Minister of Culture of the Republic of Poland, Bogdan Zdrojewski.
Dr. AMER JAAFAR is a leading Kuwaiti composer. He completed his studies  in US and Poland Academies. Well-known from his composition of concert music as well as from very popular KTV series and movies, he is the author of new arrangement of Kuwaiti National Anthem. Presently Dr. Amer is the Dean of The College of Music at the College of Basic Education.

GREAT SUCCESS OF YOUNG TALENTS FROM KUWAIT
On March 1-3, 2013 National Conservatory and Emirates Youth Symphony Orchestra (EYSO) in Dubai held GCC Music Competition. The event was held under patronage and with great support of the United Arab Emirates Ministry of Culture, Youth & Community Development and powerful Dubai Media City.
Competition consisted from two stages and Final Concert with Prize Giving Awards. Almost 50 competitors, from all GCC countries of more than twenty origins, playing on different instruments entered at 8:00 a.m. on March 1, the Competition stage. They were competing in fourth age groups in front of international Jury from nine well known musicians from Italy, US, Belgium, Czech, Germany, Russia, Syria, Egypt and – UAE. The Chairman was Director and Conductor of Orchestra, Riad Kudsi – the Founder of Competition.
Three of them represented Kuwait. They are all students of Kuwait Music Academy. They won three 1st Prizes and one 2nd Prize in their categories as follows. We are very proud to recognize their success as outstanding.
Pianist Rania Saidi won with brilliant Chopin Minute Waltz 1st Prize on the 1st category (The Youngest).
In 2nd category (above 10 y.) the 1st Prize went to pianist Teji Wang for Beethoven Sonata in F Minor.
Teji Wang won also 1st Prize on Flute.
The 2nd Prize in 3rd Category (over 15y) won Jason Chen (Chopin Revolutionary Study and Polonaise in C), recognized by audience as the best pianist of the Competition.
Our winners from Kuwait played also Concertos with accompanying them their teachers, couple of excellent pianist – Kinga and Karol Masternak. (Flute teacher of Teji is known in Kuwait Bulgarian musician, Preslav Petkov.)
Organizers wrote in the Competition’s programme brochure important words: ‘We are continuing the efforts to nationalize the Emirates Youth Symphony Orchestra , while spreading musical culture among the ethnically diverse population of the UAE and GCC; in order to create more regional cooperation.’
‘A key objective of the Festival and Competition is the encouragement and development of young musicians in the UAE, GCC and internationally; thus we hold the GCC Competition in conjunction with the Emirates International Peace Music Festival for young virtuosos.’ These are the noble words and noble motivation. Nothing to add only – to follow.
The first prize winners in each category and instrument will have the opportunity to perform at the Winner Concert on March 3rd, 2013 and the Laureate – Grand Prix Holder will have the opportunity to perform with EYSO and Guest orchestras during the Festival. The Guests Orchestras at 2013 festival are Korea National Youth Ensemble & Soloists and Premier Music College of Prague Orchestra (Czech Republic).

Good news !! our talented maestro Hai Wei Li won 1st Prize at the Dubai Competition out of 84 candidates  .
